atFest – International Festival of Digital Arts and New Technologies returns for its sixth edition, doubling the number of events. Artists from across Europe bring a programme of digital art installations to life over two weekends, set across two extraordinary venues in the historic centre of Lecce. AtFest’s main objective is to celebrate and enhance Cultural Heritage: from places and architecture to traditions and local productions, exploring the potential of digital art, with a particular focus on the use of light and technological systems that enable interaction and co-creation between audiences, installations, and their surroundings. AtFest brings together leading national and international experiences in digital art and new technologies. Videomapping, video projections, light sculptures, and interactive installations create a unique and ever-changing journey of discovery, offering new ways of experiencing and reinterpreting public spaces and places through light, art, and technology.
Ecologies of difference
Every environment emerges from an interplay of differences. Like natural ecosystems, communities, cultures, and digital networks draw their strength from the biodiversity of forms, ideas, and relationships. In a time marked by ecological crises, technological transformations, and profound social shifts, diversity is not merely a value to be preserved, but a necessary condition for imagining futures that are more open, resilient, and shared. Difference is the driving force of design.The environment is the relational ecosystem in which human and non-human, physical and digital, local and global coexist in a dynamic balance. atFest26 invites us to move through these ever-evolving landscapes, where digital art becomes a tool for investigation and imagination, capable of making visible the connections that run through natural and artificial ecosystems, biological and digital networks, and human and non-human intelligences. The artworks and experiences presented explore these interdependencies, opening up spaces for dialogue and new possibilities for coexistence.
