THE PROJECT
Fragments of Narcissus is a site-specific installation that reflects on biodiversity as a mirror of existence, transforming the pond into a constellation of ecosystems.
The projected images emerge from an observation of the surrounding landscape and its natural elements.
A series of containers filled with milk represents different microcosms that belong to a single living system. Fragmentation thus becomes a metaphor for biodiversity: a multiplicity of interconnected forms of life.
Milk, a primordial white substance, is both a symbol of life and a liquid, sensory mirror. Moving images are projected onto its surface, in which parts of the human body merge with plant forms, insects, colours, and organic elements. The boundary between human and non-human dissolves, as does that between the real and the virtual.
As viewers lean over these surfaces, they discover that they are not separate from nature, but rather part of its very fabric.
Fragments of Narcissus invites us to see biodiversity not as a sum of distinct elements, but as a living network of relationships, in which human and non-human, physical and digital coexist in a dynamic balance.
To look into the mirror of nature and discover that our reflection belongs to the world.
BIOGRAPHY
Davide Coluzzi (Daz) is an architect and visual artist working at both the Italian and international levels.
His practice spans painting, photography, and multimedia installations. His research focuses on creating a dialogue between real and artificial elements, employing artificial intelligence tools and maintaining a constant focus on the spatial dimension of his work. His interaction with reality is manipulated through light projections and visionary digital overlays to explore the boundary between what is and what could be, opening up new perspectives of perception.
